Turkey and Chine Are Two Rising Values
Implying that he had been performing his duty for many years in Turkey, Wei said that he had visited MUSIAD first time in 1998 and he had a bound of communion with MUSIAD. Wei underlined the matter of collaboration and added that he knew the culture of both countries and Chinese people were very close to Turkish people. Mentioning that he was considering Turkey and China as rising values politically, Wei said that two countries’ meeting four times in two years in Presidential level is the proof of positive relations. Wei, “Lower level diplomats should work to keep this relation going. The most important step for this is environmental plan. There will be a huge import fair in China soon and all companies aiming to sell products to China will gather there. According to 2017 January - September data, Turkey’s export from China is 2 billion 119 million dollars. Turkey’s import to China is about 17 billion 154 million dollars. In this sense, we expect to see Turkish companies in the fair. We also think that it is possible to increase these numbers.” Wei also gave information about economical conditions in China and said, “When we look at economical performance in 2015, China’s GDP reached to 11,8 trillion. Along with that, a new record is broken with 11,1 million new employment. Foreign trade volume has reached 4 trillion dollars. Therefore, China became the biggest country in the world in terms of foreign trade volume. China also experienced a 5,6% increase in foreign trade volume in 2015.”
We Pay Attention to Chinese Market
Making a speech in the meeting, President Abdurrahman Kaan mentioned that trading bound people together and built bridges. Kaan stated that he personally and other MUSIAD members paid attention to Chinese market. Reminding that MUSIAD announced 2019 as Asian Year, Kaan added that they wanted to come together with Chinese representatives more frequently. Kaan, “Reciprocal visits are important to increase trade. Therefore, visa concession is an important factor. We, as MUSIAD, always prefer developing projects with the principle of “win win”. Recently we started collaborating with Alibaba’s Turkish representatives for manufacturer women to sell their products abroad. We also think that railways will help trading to increase between two countries. In addition to that, it is a very big advantage that MUSIAD has branches and representatives in many countries on the railway line. Youthful population is necessary for production and R&D and we think Turkey is ahead of the game on this subject.”
